Mt. Whitney Pipe Smoking
Enjoying my compact Rhodesian pipe after summiting Mt. Whitney at 14,508 elevation in June of 2015.

Thank you for visiting my website. I am a web developer by day but my true passion is working with my hands whether it be with wood or leather. I enjoy making wooden boxes, various leather items and my favorite pastime pipe making.

Pipe making is a hobby of mine I’ve been doing for a few years now. Creating tobacco pipes allows me  to create functional pieces of art to be enjoyed by others for decades to come.

Each one of my pipes is hand made in the central Sierra mountains of California not far from Yosemite National Park. I only use quality briar wood from Italy and sometimes Algeria. Each stem is drilled and fitted with a delrin rod tenon for durability and long life.

My designs are diverse from some classic shapes to freehand pipes where my real passion is. Instead of following predefined shapes I prefer to follow wood or sometimes follow a spur of the moment design idea I have. Since I make pipes part time I make pipes that I would personally want to own and pipes that I enjoy making. I enjoy making pipes that are reasonably priced without too many frills.

You will notice that all of my handmade tobacco pipes are named after hikes, mountain peaks or other prominent natural features in the Sierra Nevada mountains where I live. Besides working with my hands I love the outdoors and getting into the back country every chance I get. There are few things better to me than reaching a far off mountain summit in the Sierras or relaxing by a campfire at night enjoying my pipe with friends or family.
