Mt. Whitney Pipe Smoking

Thank you for visiting my website. By day, I’m a web developer, but my true passion lies in hands-on craftsmanship, whether it involves wood carving or creating custom tobacco pipes.  Pipe making has been a cherished hobby of mine for several years. It allows me to fashion functional pieces of art that can be cherished for decades by others.

Each of my pipes is meticulously handcrafted in the heart of the central Sierra Mountains of California, not far from the iconic Yosemite National Park. I exclusively employ quality briar wood sourced from Italy, Greece and, occasionally, Algeria. Every stem is made from the highest quality German ebonite rod, carefully drilled and fitted with a Delrin rod tenon to ensure both durability and longevity.

My designs range from classic shapes to freehand pipes, where my true passion shines. Instead of adhering to predetermined forms, I prefer to allow the wood to guide my creations or follow spur-of-the-moment design inspirations. As a part-time pipe maker, I only craft pipes that I would personally love to own and those that bring me joy in the making process. I take pride in offering reasonably priced pipes without unnecessary embellishments.

You’ll notice that each of my handcrafted tobacco pipes bears the name of a hike, mountain peak, or other notable natural feature from the Sierra Nevada mountains, which I hold dear. Beyond my crafting pursuits, I am an avid outdoors enthusiast, relishing every opportunity to venture into the backcountry. Few things compare to the satisfaction of reaching a remote mountain summit in the Sierras or sharing a campfire with friends and family while enjoying a pipe.
